Let’s face it, we all enjoy shopping, and the idea of getting paid to do it seems almost too good to be true. However, earning through cashbacks, discounts, coupons and points is entirely possible while you shop. You might argue that these savings aren’t the same as earning money, but it’s all about perspective. If you haven’t been using them, starting now means you’re effectively making money by purchasing items at a reduced price.
Just to set expectations, this isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. Last year, I saved over $500, including coupons, discounts, and cashbacks. Is it worth it? I consider it free money, but ultimately, the decision is yours.
Rakuten
Rakuten offers varying cashback percentages across different websites and even applies additional discounts to your purchases.
Once you accumulate at least $5.01, you can link your card to your Rakuten account for direct deposits. Although it supports many countries, it’s wise to check compatibility first. I linked my PayPal account to Rakuten and have already transferred over $50 directly into my bank account.

Honey
Honey operates slightly differently by offering discount coupons and points instead of direct cashback. These points can be redeemed for items like Amazon gift cards or coupons for various sites. The threshold for redemption is 1,000 points, which equals a $10 Amazon gift card.
On the top right corner, I have accumulated 2,476 points so far 😊. You can also try it here — Honey!
Conclusion
I personally prefer Rakuten due to the higher cashback rates on my usual shopping sites, but your choice may vary depending on the rewards available.
Another pro tip: If you use a credit card for your purchases, you can also rack up credit card points!
The purpose of this blog is to encourage you to explore and test these options for yourself. I’ve had great success with Rakuten and Honey and wanted to share my experiences. If you know of or discover other lucrative platforms, please share them in the comments below.
Happy shopping!
